Explaining the Body Styles

There are different body styles available with our doll kits and it can be easy to get confused as to how each body style is different.

The pictures show how the 1/4 vinyl length limbs compare to the 3/4 vinyl length limbs. Also a picture of a Full Limb Doll.

1/4 Vinyl Length Limbs

The vinyl part of the arm and leg is 1/4 of the total length of the limb.

The 1/4 vinyl length style is the cuddliest body style.

Most children prefer the cuddlier 1/4 vinyl length limbs because it is more enjoyable to hold and creates a more life like feel and "flop" to the doll then the longer limbs.

The 1/4 vinyl limbs are significantly more posable then the 3/4 vinyl limbs and are the preference for photographers.

3/4 Vinyl Length Limbs

The vinyl part of the arm and leg is 3/4 of the total length of the limb.

Short sleeved garments fit this body style well.

The 3/4 vinyl length limbs are the preference of most doll collectors who plan only to display their dolls, not carry them around.

The 3/4 vinyl length limbs are available for all 10" through 30" doll kits.

Full Limbs

The vinyl arm and leg is full length to the shoulder.

Sleeveless clothing and Short sleeved garments fit this body style well.

The Full length limbs are the preference of most doll collectors.

The Full length limbs are available for dolls 10" through 30" doll kits.

Care of Vinyl Doll Parts

We strongly recommend that you keep all writing utensils, especially ink pens, away from any of your vinyl parts.

Vinyl is extremely porous and will easily absorb inks, dyes, and other staining chemicals.

Use a mild soap and a warm, soft cloth to wash dirt and dust from the vinyl pieces.

To remove ink from the vinyl use Zapzyt, Clearasil or a Skin-So-Soft product containing 10% Benzoyl Peroxide.

Apply the cream to the part of the doll with ink on it and let it sit over night.

Remove cream with damp cloth.

Do not use any solutions that are abrasive or that would remove paint (such as solvents or paint thinners).

To the best of your ability, store all vinyl pieces in a dry, temperature-controlled area.

Too much humidity may cause a mildew effect.

Vinyl is very absorbent and it may end up smelling like cigarette smoke, your fireplace, or even like fried food if it is stored near anything in your home or store that causes those orders.
